Nanto Teapot

Made by artisans in Morioka Town, Iwate Prefecture, these teapots are made entirely from traditional cast iron, called Nanbu tekki. They have an enamel interior and contain a stainless steel mesh filter. The black teapot has been enameled with tannin for its anti-rust effects and to achieve a unique density of black. The champagne-colored teapot will gradually turn into a golden color as the white enamel will peel off over time..
