Bougies TOHATSU

These elegant candles are made from sumac wax (natural mist plant). The wick is a mixture of paper and rush also used for making tatami mats. Their shape is is an homage to ‘The Pine Trees screen’, drawn by Tohaku Hasegawa, one of the most famous painters in Japan.  Artisans in the Ishikawa region have been making these candles since 1892. This set includes 7 candles and 1 candle holder presented in a Paulownia wooden box.
